Hair Adornment of the Week

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

oooohhhh la la Velvet Owl!  What a magnificent creation and such a modern twist on the bubble veil. I love it, especially with the flower comb that creates such a beautiful contrast and a secondary option for later when the veil may come off.  The Bubble veil is a favorite because to me is feels like and extension to your hair and adds such beautiful height.   Be interchangeable and have two different looks for your ceremony to reception, this will give you the option.

It’s time to freshen ourselves up as we jump into spring!  The flowers are blooming, the sun is attempting to make an appearance, and we are coming out of our hibernation.  Nothing makes you feel better about yourself than a fresh color,  covering up the old or brightening the drab.  So you ask,  What’s hot?  How do I choose?  What do I do with my existing color?

Always do your research by scanning this seasons hottest magazines for some color ideas.  You always have to remember that a lot of editorial pictures can include extensions which allow the color to pop more which is unrealistic in natural hair.  Bring several options with you to show to your stylist because all may not be suitable for your skin tone.  Your stylist may have some great ideas for you with new techniques or color palette choices from a recent color class or hair show.  Always trust your colorist in choosing the correct tones that will be perfectly matched with you.

Big changes can be made in steps, making it a great transformation over a span of several seasons.  So get to the blonde, blonde, blonde at the end of summer.  Be the ever changing blonde combining tones to include different dimensions, reaching it’s full potential by the end of the season.  The same can go for any color.   Red heads can change all hues from honey tones to copper tones and plan your deep winter red, red tones.  By working towards a goal you can have so much fun in the process, be ever changing and treat your hair in a gentle manner.

What’s hot? Brightening your browns with warm hues of honey to create an all over lighter golden hued brown. Take your left over winter blonde to a warm vanilla blonde to soften and tone your look for spring. Banding- brighten the front section around your face with a lighter shade of color blending it with highlights to the back or using a complimentary color.  Whatever you do, freshen yourself with a new pop of spring color and you will feel renewed!

What is your spring hair fling?

Imagine Three hair & make-up (creators of Bliss) had the opportunity this week to do a fashion show at a local high school.  We pulled one of the looks from The Bliss Book and recreated it.  We threw in a flower, stolen from a small child, for some fun.  The make-up was changed to a more glowy bronzed look.  I am excited about this post because I get to show you both the look from The Bliss Book the recreated look with a dress option.

All the dresses for the  Milan High School Prom Fashion Show were provided by David’s Bridal.

Check out the different hair adornments chosen to create a pop of color.  This white dress is great because the accessory options are endless.

Get Your Prom On!

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

This week we are going to dedicate to prom.  It’s the season and everyone should be gearing up for the dress find, then the accessories, the right shoes and what the heck to do with your hair.  So we are going to play match the dress with accessories and hair.  A fun little inspiration palette to get your game on and look your best on prom day.

Everyone has their own individual style and it should shine on events like these.  Face it girls these are the days we have to look forward to,  looking beautiful and showing off the best.  So show your style in your dress choice, hair and accessories.

The shoulder are out,  so by wearing your hair up you will look stunning.  But you can definantly have a down do with this dress.  I would suggest making it a more dressy style than casual,  because the dress is so red carpet.  The picture shows a short style that is more of a sleek look which does look good.  You can either go with a curly or sleek style with this choice of dress.  But big and bold says it all with accessories and hair.

Click on the picture and they will take you directly to the accessory and dress.

2010 Trend Setting Styles

Monday, April 5th, 2010

We look to our icons to set the trends. I was so happy to see so many up styles this past Golden Globe and Oscar season. My most favorite one so far has been Sandra Bullock’s from the Golden Globes.  So perfectly waved and that piece of hair dangles just right.  I wanted to pick some of my most favorite styles for the season that can fit almost any dress style, age bracket and festivity.
