Bold & Beautiful

Saturday, November 27th, 2010

The Bride:

One of my favorite girls of the year! We call her our barbie and she makes us very happy.  From the beginning of her adventure with us she was not afraid of big hair and bold lips.  For us as artists we love this and take the chance to jump in full speed ahead.

Bold lips can range in some many different shades to meet your skin tone.  As you can see form the pictures they show beautifully and you should never fear the “screaming lips” if done right.  The bride also chose to keep her eyes at a softer level which complements her lips.

Her hair in my book was to die for, she kept saying bigger. It was the perfect height for her face structure and body size.  I always have brides help me while placing final pieces and adding extra ones.  The tendrils that were left came from her suggestion and this I believe was the final & missing piece to the style.  She was perfectly adorned by her dainty headband and veil.

Thank you Imagine Three Photography for the awesome pictures. Check out more of the big day wedding pics here.

Mother of the Bride

She flows with her daughter but she stands alone. Her hair, so elegant and fresh flowing upwards working with the folds of her dress. Not curls, not prom but elegant.

bridesmaid:

It’s soft, visual from the side & front.  Texture added to the bang & height in the top. I say a flower to the other side for balance would have been perfect and this is a perfect style for a bridesmaid and a bride.

Princess Power

Thursday, November 18th, 2010

As the announcement comes  of Prince William and Kate Middleton finally engaged,  so do the memories and images of Princess Diana’s wedding day.  I was little, now I am telling my age, but I do remember waking up early to watch her wedding unfold.  There she was with her 25-foot train & veil to match, giant dress and to top it a crown.  Oh to be a princess. I think I fell in love with weddings then or the thought of having the ability to become a princess for at least one day.

But let’s talk about the fact that she has short hair & how magnificently it was styled.  I think a hairstyle that was coifed in anything but classic with this production would have taken it over the top. Her simple hair and simple self made her so classically beautiful.

So let this be an inspiration for women with short hair. Take this 1980s style and bring into the 2010s,  because it’s so classic. Why not top it with a crown :) …of course her’s is magnificent.

Happy Hair inspiration!

Beautiful Family Love

Friday, November 12th, 2010
Classic, beautiful and herself was our bride of the moment.  From her make-up that was so soft and simple to her hair that withheld  the July heat.  We started by prepping her hair the day before with a volume filled blow dry.  It was a start to a stress free beauty regimen and a great look for her rehearsal dinner.  Completely happy with her simple & beautiful look that complimented her dress & veil perfectly.
Big thanks to Nicole Ladonne Photography for sharing her photographs from the event.  To see more photos from this event visit Nicole Ladonne blog post .

Stunning Mother of the Bride:

I am so excited to show you this stunning mother of the bride.  This is a perfect example of taking your everyday hair and pumping it up.  She’s absolutely perfect walking her daughter down the aisle.  Her hair is filled with volume and has movement that holds. Remember you don’t have to put your hair up to be elegant.

Sassy Bridesmaid:

Sister & bridesmaid of the bride,  had a fun and sassy style.  The braid in her hair gives a perfect option of keeping your hair out of your face.  The style is still dressy enough for an elegant dress & I must say an awesome necklace.

Bringing it back…

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

While watching one of my favorite movies Father of the Bride I was thrown back to the 90′s styled hair, dress & veil.  If you watch the movie,  she later removes her veil to just wear her headband.  It’s a perfect & simple look for her naturally curly hair.  I am a product of the 90′s…I attended beauty school in the 90′s,  graduated from high school in the 90′s, ect….  So you get it, but everything always has a way of coming back around.  So take in her pretty laced, flowered headband that creates her whole hair look.  Bring it back girls!

And you know I love all that lace and all that dress!
