New Year Love

Friday, January 28th, 2011

I am SO excited to blog my New Year’s Day bride! Her hair & make-up could have not been more perfect for her.  We attempted a couple of trial runs to get her final look. She’s the perfect runway bride.  She found her inspiration in one of my previous brides, but with a few changes to fit her & she became her individual style.

Her make-up a golden & brown eye to match her skin tones, perfectly bronzed and just enough pink lip.

A big Thank You to Inspired Art for sharing their amazing photographs. To see more from this event click here.

Hair Adornment of the Week

Monday, January 24th, 2011

Oh my…breathtaking!  I would love to dress up and wear this lovely feather out & a bride has to find a way to dress herself with the “high society” adornment.  Amazed with Mata Hari’s Daughter creation on Etsy.  Why bother with your hair when you can wear this & showcase your fabulous make-up and face.

In Edwardian high society, a lady would be expected to have an accoutrement such as this in her extensive wardrobe. With voluminous ostrich plumes in ebony, striated chocolate and amethyst and a gorgeous, silk organza cabbage rose….this lady is the perfect portrait of luxurious living.

Red Carpet Finale

Sunday, January 23rd, 2011

It’s the final post to the 4 part series of the 2011 Golden Globe red carpet looks. Recapping, this years looks are heading upwards.  A sense of relief to see so many women looking stunning in their coifed up styles.  I am still in the love with the direction of higher up do’s.

Jennifer Love Hewitt sported the fabulous hot bun love!  Milia Kunis and her textured do with so much height, was total awesomeness for her face shape. Sarah Hyland has a style that few did on the runway a heavy abundance of soft bangs.  What a great way to change your whole look & feature your face.

It’s been a great year for hair inspiration at the Golden Globes & I hope you liked my choices for this years best.  I’m excited we are just getting warmed up for the Oscars!

Red Carpet Hollywood Glam

Friday, January 21st, 2011

Continuing with the 2011 Golden Globe red carpet inspiration, we finally get to the downward swing.  A clear statement of old school 1940s waves walked the red carpet.  A change from this past year of the looser curls with the ends undone.

With so many examples from short to barley there waves, there’s a perfect one for you. It’s Old Hollywood Glam & it’s beautiful.

My favorite pic is Dianna Agron.

Pretty Pony

Thursday, January 20th, 2011

One of the most popular up trends on the red carpet this year comes straight from 2011 spring runway, the pony.  It graced this years runway in many forms as it did the red carpet.  Hooray for bringing the pony back with such strength.

The pony often is something we do for ease and quickness but don’t be deceived it can grace the red carpet.  One of my most favorite looks is a full pony.  It can be sexy & playful!

My favorite by far is Jennifer Lopez, what’s yours?

Red Carpet Twist

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011

This week I will be blogging on looks from the 2011 Golden Globe red carpet.  This year there were a fare share of up and down styles but a strong lean towards the upward swing.  My very first pick for favorite is Golden Globe winner Natalie Portman. Classic & grand she was stunning in her french twist.

The french twist has been carried on for so many decades and has been transformed to fit any occasion. It can be worn with or without a bang. With Natalie, they chose a bang which was perfect with the softness of her dress.

Be grand & inspired!

Red carpet look

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011

This year has been the year of Big Bun Love.  But this big bun has transformed to fit my lovely, statuesque & beautiful friend.  It’s soft allowing the bun to blend with her full bang marrying the two perfectly.  I love giving my friend big hair to match her own fabulous style.  The wedding was a grand & elegant affair so her stunning hair was a match.

Don’t be fooled this style can be worn for a red carpet event, black tie event or even for a bride.

Romantic Satin Pink Turban Headband with Crystal Flower by bethany lorelle on Etsy.  This caught my eye immediately, I have a love for sparkly broaches so naturally on a headband, why not.

The soft, satin pink works perfectly with almost any color scheme.  Perfect for a wedding day look, also used as a second look after removing your veil.  Or just any day with a simple dress & curly pig tails as shown in the picture.

Check out some Bliss inspired looks below that will flow with the turban style headband.  Happy Inspiration!
