Hair adornment of the week

Monday, July 26th, 2010

Put a pretty bow on it!  This piece is special and one of a kind, with a little vintage flair.  I love how it’s simply placed in her loose waves.  Another suggested loose wave option from The Bliss Book, shown below, would go perfectly with the ”Celeste” Hair Clip.

Accessorize that dress!

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

I just wanted to stay on Peppermint Pretty’s site to listen to the great music while I drooled over dresses.  I love playing the game of matching hairstyles, dress & accessory.  The center of inspiration for this post, is the dress.  You usually always begin first with your dress then the accessory & your hair most of the time will follow.  You can go full fledge vintage with this dress choice or throw in a bit of modern.

The hairstyles of choice range from swept back with softness, classic french with a twist, straight up victory roll with pin curls & down with an edge of vintage.  Adorn any one of these hairstyles with fun choice pics below of some of my favorite artist.   Click on the pic to visit their sweet adornments and Peppermint Pretty to find your dress!

~Hair adornment of the week~

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

I love Stumbling upon beautiful adornments for special brides. I picked this flower with a special someone in mind who will be getting married this next year. It has the perfect sparkle right in the middle.

You can find the gardenia at Londonxox on Etsy. The gardenia is especially elegant & beautiful, but tender.  So fresh are usually not an option for your hair.  So adorn with a sparkle.

Sakura - Cherry Blossom Hair Comb with Swarovski Crystals and Seed Beads

Sakura - Cherry Blossom Hair Comb with Swarovski Crystals and Seed Beads

So delicate and pretty!  I love cherry blossoms so I couldn’t pass up the color or delicate look of the flower.  Each blossom is hand crafted utilizing CLAYCRAFT by DECO Soft Clay to form lifelike flowers one petal at a time.  It has pink Swarovski crystals for extra bling.  You can find this beauty and so much more on Dk Designs Hawaii on Etsy.

I have added a style suggestion from The Bliss Book.  This flower comb would also be a great option with a veil. It would also be a great option for bridesmaids.   Happy adorning!

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

When I am looking for the best of the best hair adornments I often find myself thinking how I can wear this, where were these hair bobbles when I needed them and can I get married again. No not really again,  but can I stick a pretty something extra in my hair.

Lottie-Da Designs has become one of my favorites on Etsy. When I came across her page of it so clean and pretty full designs made for a princess.  These are some of my featured favorites, click on the pictures to go directly to her designs.

I have featured some Bliss looks that would look fabulous with Lootie-Da’s featured adornments.

Fit For Her

Monday, May 31st, 2010

When it comes to being inspired for your wedding day look,  you can find it anywhere.  When I have brides that choose directly from The Bliss Book I am always excited.

in·spi·ra·tion: the act of influencing or suggesting opinions.

Like I always say inspiration can be your beginning point of communication, a stepping stone to your ultimate goal.  You may come to your stylist with three inspirational looks that you will want to turn into one.  My most recent bride wanted a look from Bliss,  but altered to suit her as a person.  We changed it to fit her dress, personality and hair type.  Lowering the height, leaving some down on the side and no bang.

Use your inspirational photos as references they will be your perfect communication tool for you and your stylist.

Picture PerFect Prom

Monday, May 17th, 2010

Transformed into a picture perfect prom,  Nia is a classic beauty.  She had consulted and deliberated on her perfect up style to match her vintage dress.  I am proud to say she had chosen her style from the pages of The Bliss Book.  She has also adorned our pages as one of our models.  I am glad to see her day of prom approach and be able to give her inspiration from the pages she helped fill.

The style that was chosen is a more retro vintage style with a modern twist.  The Bliss Book is meant to be a guide to help you reach your ultimate style.  Some alterations were made to fit Nia, her hair and what she preferred.  So in the end we have a beautiful girl ready for her prom.

Thank you Nia for sharing your pictures and choosing Bliss for your inspiration. I hope your look inspires others!

Where will you find your inspiration?

Happy Mother’s Day!

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

Calling all MOB’s and MOG’s this post is dedicated to you in honor of Mother’s Day and your up coming event.  We celebrate you with some inspirational styles that may help you in your decision making.  Often I hear from mother’s they do not have choices and they do not know what to do with their hair for the event.  You are often the person running around tying up loose ends.  As the mother you are one of the most important people at the event so sit down, relax and beautify yourself for this grand moment.

The chignon is perfect a soft loose bun at the nape of you neck sometimes leaving things out around your face.  The chignon can be deciphered in many ways but is always elegant and age appropriate. The french twist is perfect for putting your hair up and looking elegant.  Again you can have multiple interpretations of the twist.  Down can be loosely pulled back from the face with loose wave so that it will not look like a prom do but more of an elegant red carpet style.

If you would like to be more you on that day and not do an up style or a formal style,  my suggestion is to see your normal stylist or a stylist that will do a trial.  Have your normal every day style but pumped up.  Get a blow dry that is full of life add a few loose waves.  Short hair add a little bended curl to your everyday style.  Whatever you do represent yourself and be proud.

InsPired From The PaGes oF Bliss

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

Imagine Three hair & make-up (creators of Bliss) had the opportunity this week to do a fashion show at a local high school.  We pulled one of the looks from The Bliss Book and recreated it.  We threw in a flower, stolen from a small child, for some fun.  The make-up was changed to a more glowy bronzed look.  I am excited about this post because I get to show you both the look from The Bliss Book the recreated look with a dress option.

All the dresses for the  Milan High School Prom Fashion Show were provided by David’s Bridal.

Check out the different hair adornments chosen to create a pop of color.  This white dress is great because the accessory options are endless.
