From the location, to the dresses, to two of our models being from Ypsilanti, MI we are proud to represent. We are all growing businesses, striving and are strong women.

We had the great privilege to shoot at Beezy’s cafe in Ypsilanti, MI. Simple, honest food is their quote. Such good food it is! What a great place to visit and great surroundings to shoot in. Go visit, you will be addicted!

The dresses came from Leslie Austin a local dress designer. You may often see them as you drive down Michigan Avenue in the windows of her store Lezley Anne. They are all uniquely different and so much fun. Thank you Lezley for dressing our models!

To die for hair!  Big bun was what I heard from my bride and no fear she had of it.  In fact, the bigger the better.  I was so excited to see the pictures and her photographer JCL Portraits so graciously allowed me to snag some of her great shots.  She has managed to capture the brides fun style,  but elegant hot bun love.

The inspiration from this look came from our Travelhost Wedding Guide cover shot.  Changed, altered and perfected to suit her on her special day.  Happy hair inspiration to you!

BeautiFul Blessings

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Always excited to present a wedding that was photographed by my sister Whitney Keeler, Imagine Three Photography.  I am so honored and amazed when I get to work with my sister.

Looking through the pages, blogs, pictures what do you find? Your inspiration, what you desire to look like on your special day.

Our bride found her inspiration from a previous look created for none other than my cousin.  When you find your look it’s tailored to fit you and your hair.  Both women had very different hair texture & color,  so you will notice it creates slight changes in the look.  So always remember the look may change from pictures to reality because of the hair that your were blessed with.  Happy Inspiration!

Twined Beauty

Saturday, June 5th, 2010

A little inspiration from one of our wedding’s, that my dear photographer friend had photographed.

The beauty and elegance of her hair holds a surprise.  Her “bun” was a more non traditional and  was twined with braids.  Her front swooped in a more old school classic look. She adorned with little flower like rhinestone clips throughout the back so that after removing her veil she would have a second look.  Her veil was supported beautifully by her fun “bun”.

Enjoy and I hope your inspired!

~Italian Vogue~

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

I was so excited to share this beautiful bride.  Alexa was married first in Italy to her groom Ryan. After their wedding in Italy, they came back to the states and held a reception in both Detroit, where Ryan is from, and San Diego, where Alexa is from.

I was able to sneak a peak at her pictures from her first wedding and OOOOOHHHHHH it was breathtaking and she was beautiful like an Italian Vogue model.  But this was a different location and a different look was requested.  Her first look was loose but a large like bun, to the side, that was so perfectly sculpted in the back (like a painting)…it all matched her surroundings.  She had given me several options for her look but it was to be more loose and to the side.  I loved her results,  she is beautiful and this complimented her and the dress.  Again she can be on the cover of a magazine.

This is a perfect look if you want to wear your hair down but contained.  It can still easily be adorned with a veil, birdcage, flowers, pins or just by itself like Alexa has chosen.  This is also great hair for formal event or New Years party!

My love for this wedding and my bride who gave me simple instructions for her is what made this so beautiful.  Sometimes that can be the hardest to accomplish.  She brought me pictures of Jenna Bush and her laid back, simply beautiful hair.  Again, I did not know my bride before our first consult.  Her picture was her instructions and part of her verbalization of what she wanted.  This was our path to the road of getting to know her, leading us to her perfect look.  Enjoy!

Tell me how you get to your perfect look?

BRIDAL BOUTIQUE LUNCHEON – a wedding workshop

BRIDAL BOUTIQUE – wedding workshop for expert advice from area wedding professionals. Brides will hear advice on photography, makeup and hair, wedding attire, wedding etiquette, invitations, videography, wedding cakes, reception entertainment, wedding decor, honeymoon planning and much more.

owner of e-vents: a wedding and event planning company.

Erica Gregory owner of E-vents: a wedding and event planning company.

I was given the opportunity to speak at the wedding workshop by Erica Gregory owner of E-vents.  What a privilege and great idea to give local brides the opportunity to hear directly from the experts.  If you are ever given the chance to attend a Bridal Luncheon,  do so.  You will find yourself hearing directly from Vendors you may want to hire or just hear their expert advice.

For my talk I covered how to prepare the hair prior to your wedding day.  This plays a major role in your hair holding, the control of fuzziness & it will be the canvas on which your stylist will perform their work.

I prepared three models with separate looks and gave choices of veil placement, flower choice and pins.  I am a firm believer that we all need visual aids & ideas,  to help in leading us to the final look.

A local photographer in Indianapolis was on hand,  Sarah E. Carter you can also see more about the event at her blog post:
If you will notice Bea's hairstyle if very similar to The Bliss Book cover, it's just modified to fit her.

If you will notice Bea's hairstyle if very similar to The Bliss Book cover, it's just modified to fit her. The large flower is perfect for her daintiness.

Because Bea's features are so small I wanted to give her heights and bring it away from her her beautiful face slightly.

This is one of my favorite choices. A bride at one time had me place at least ten Stephanotis flowers in her soft, loose up do. It was a perfect option to not wearing a veil.

Originally I had crytal pins but I decided to give a fun summer option with gerber dasies. This look is very structured and you can do many things with it. Veil, pins, flowers.......
